First, if you are experiencing any symptoms after consuming an unknown mushroom like gastrointestinal distress, vomiting, lightheadedness call 911 and/or go to your nearest hospital (take the remnants of the mushroom if you can).  Some folks are actually allergic to mushrooms. Recognizing various forms of fungi is a science as well as an art. Shannon Phillips holds a Wild Foraging Certificate. If you would like your mushroom to be identified please send clear photographs of the top & underneath of mushroom cap.  Also pictures of the stem, how it is attached to the ground/or wood and the mushrooms natural surroundings.

A fee of between $5.00 - $15.00 will be charged to identify your mushroom finds. Some mushrooms cannot be identified using only pictures. Please keep you finds in separate brown paper bag(s) in the refrigerator to keep them fresh as possible in case a spore print is needed to make a positive ID. We will contact you when your mushroom has been identified. We accept payments by VENMO only at this time. Payment must be made before identification information is released. If your mushroom cannot be identified the minimum of $5.00 will we charged.
